About us

The Afghan Prosecutors Association (APA) is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit social organization that voluntarily unites prosecutors and, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, declares universal rights of law. Humanities, Covenants, International Conventions Act in Understanding and Cooperation with the International Association of Prosecutors (IPA). The Association of Afghan Prosecutors (APA) was established in 2009 and is registered with the Afghan Ministry of Justice. The Association (APA) is also a member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IPA).

Basic duties of the prosecutor

Pursuant to Article 134 of the Afghan Constitution, the Attorney General’s Office is part of the executive branch and is independent in its implementation and subject to the provisions of the law.
The investigation of crimes and the filing of lawsuits against the accused in court form the basic duties of the prosecutor.
Observance of the applicable laws of the country, equal application of the law, defense of the rights and freedoms of citizens, defense of Islamic values, rights and freedoms, human dignity and human rights of individuals, are among the priorities of a prosecutor.
In order to defend the rights of Afghan citizens, prosecutors investigate all cases with determination, independence and complete impartiality, with due regard for justice and fairness, and make decisions based on documents, evidence and documents.
